Image Upload Instructions

You can upload screenshot images for your product by clicking the Upload Screenshots button. Screenshots must be JPEG (.jpg) image files; the image size may be 640x480, 800x600, or 1,024x768 pixels; and the maximum file size allowed is 500KB. The screenshot must be an image taken from the program's actual interface. You may also upload additional product artwork by clicking the Upload Artwork button.

If you would like additional help with the Add/Modify Product forms, the Submission Instructions will let you know what specific information is needed to successfully submit products to our library.

You can upload up to 12 screenshot images for your product via the Upload.com submission form. For the best results, we recommend you verify that your images meet the following criteria before proceeding with your upload:

• File is a JPEG (.jpg).
• Image width:height ratio matches standard 4:3 screen dimensions and is between 400x300 and 1,600x1,200 pixels.
• Hint: Acceptable image sizes include 640x480, 800x600 or 1,024x768 pixels.
• Hint: If your product's interface doesn't match these dimensions, you can place the image on a white background to meet this requirement.
• Image is taken from the program's actual interface.
• File does not contain offensive content.

The first screenshot image you upload for your product will be used as the primary screenshot. This is the first image users will see when they view your product's screenshots, and it's the image we will display next to your product on search results pages and editorial features. Your additional screenshots will appear on your product page once they have been processed by our staff.

You may also choose to submit a caption with each screenshot. This should be a brief, one-sentence description of the image, and should only be used to provide additional information that helps users better understand the image. We reserve the right to edit or remove any captions that contain nonessential information.

To upload new screenshots from the Add/Modify Product form:

1. Click the Upload Screenshots button to open the image-upload window.
2. Click Browse to select the image you want to upload, enter a short caption (optional), and click Upload for your primary screenshot.
3. If your image upload was successful, you can upload additional screenshots (click Next) or go back to the submission form (click Done).
4. At any time before you complete your product submission, you can go back to the image-upload window and add more screenshots or throw away your previously uploaded screenshots and start over. You cannot reorder or delete screenshots individually. You may, however, throw away all your currently uploaded screenshots for that specific product, then reupload them in whatever order you prefer.
5. When you're ready to complete your submission, you will see a summary of your image-upload changes on the confirmation page for your submission.

When modifying your product, you do not need to upload new screenshots. Your existing screenshot images will carry over with any changes to your product listing unless you submit changes to your images via the image-upload window.

To make changes to your screenshots from the Modify Product form:

1. Click the Modify Screenshots button to open the image-upload window.
2. If you have existing screenshots, you will see them listed in the image-upload window.
3. Choose one of the following options before clicking Next:
1. Add more screenshots: adds new screenshots if you have uploaded fewer than 12
2. Throw away your existing images and upload new ones: replaces your existing screenshots
3. Throw away your existing images and do not upload new ones: deletes your screenshots
4. Edit existing screenshot captions: carries over your existing screenshots and allows you to edit the captions
4. Follow the instructions in the image-upload window.
5. At any time before you complete your product submission, you can go back to the image-upload window and add more screenshots or throw away your previous changes and start over. You cannot reorder or delete screenshots individually. You may, however, throw away all your currently uploaded screenshots for that specific product, then reupload them in whatever order you prefer.
6. When you're ready to complete your submission, you will see a summary of your image-upload changes on the confirmation page for your submission.

You may submit one additional image for your product, such as a logo, a box shot, or any other image that represents your product or company and is not a screenshot. These images currently are not visible on Download.com, but they will eventually appear in certain areas of the site where your products are available. For the best results, we recommend you verify that your image meets the following criteria before proceeding with your upload:

• File is a JPEG (.jpg).
• Image is square (width=height).
• Image size is between 100x100 and 1,200x1,200 pixels.
• Artwork is a logo, a box shot, or any other image that represents your product or company and is not a screenshot.
• File does not contain offensive content.

To upload product artwork from the Add/Modify Product form:

1. Click the Upload Artwork button to open the image-upload window.
2. Click Browse to select your image and click Upload.
3. At any time before you complete your product submission, you can go back to the image-upload window and replace or delete your product artwork.
4. When you're ready to complete your submission, you will see a summary of your image-upload changes on the confirmation page for your submission.
